Contouring Guide For Beginners

Contouring Guide For Beginners

Contouring is a makeup technique that has used by the stars for decades.

It involves using darker and lighter powders, creams or pencils to highlight and shade your face creating a professional makeup look.

If you’ve never tried contouring this beginners guide will make it super easy for you!

Contouring Guide For BeginnersBronzer is a great way to shade your face without foundation and is perfect for beginners.

Liquid or powder bronzers will both work but for more defined your cheekbones, nose, and jawline use a liquid bronzer as it blends easier.

If you’re going to use a liquid bronzer for contouring, a makeup blending sponge works best.

When using a powder bronzer, an angled brush or a flat brush is best for giving your cheekbones that coveted depth.

The heaviest application of your bronzer should start from your hairline, sweeping out toward your cheeks.

A lighter application should be used when applying the bronzer from your checks back toward your ears.

Make sure you aren’t using a circular motion when applying bronzer to the cheeks, as this will leave you with a dark circle on the apples of your cheeks.

Don’t forget to sweep a little of your bronzer downward onto your jawline and neck to create a seamless transition.

Finally, apply the bronzing powder to each side of the nose to slim and sculpt the width of the bridge.

Bronzer should give you a sun-kissed glow so don’t use too much or it will make your face look dirty.

These are much easier to control than other types of highlighters.

This should be applied above the bronzer but it should never come into contact with bronzer.

When beginning to highlight start with the areas the sun would naturally fall on your face.

Use your fingers to pat and blend into the center of your nose, the arch of your brow bone and forehead.

Finish by highlighting the top of the cheekbones.

Apply a light blush for a touch of color and your look is complete.

You don’t have to go overboard when contouring you can keep it simple and still get a polished look!

As you can see with this simple technique you can achieve a flawless contouring look at home!

This is one great beauty trick every woman needs in her makeup portfolio.
