Living Simply. Simple Steps To Improving Your Health

Living Simply. Simple Steps To Improving Your Health!

This being the first of the year everyone is wanting to make New Year’s resolutions to get in shape or improve their health. I feel it’s important to always set goals to improve your health, more in these times than years ago. Life is no longer simple as it was in the past because of technology and media (Oops did I say media), well yes.  There is so much information out there that one can become tired and stressed just muddling through it all.

I say go back to the simple things of life.

Which when I was growing up meant eat good wholesome foods, preparing meals at home (rather than eating out), NOT overeating, staying away from processed foods, limiting sugar intake, getting plenty of rest and exercising a few times a week.   It was really that simple.   Now if you haven’t been living a simple life, there is an awesome product that I use to help me fill in the gaps… it’s called a Multivitamin!!

Yes!!! A Multivitamin. Ok, so why do you need a multivitamin?  Because our normal diet these days sucks!  If you don’t believe me check out “What the Health” on Netflix. We are literally eating junk! Unless you are eating grass fed chicken, beef, and organic veggies you are missing out on important vitamins.  A multivitamin can help you fill in the gaps.

You also need to make sure you are getting enough protein.  I like to get my protein from protein shakes that I make with fresh and frozen fruit. It taste great and if I have one in the morning then I find I am full until lunchtime.  This is the perfect option if you are in a hurry in the morning and don’t have time for breakfast. Simply make a protein shake (Vanilla or Chocolate) with a frozen banana and some strawberries.

I challenge you to make small changes every month and they will start to become habits!

Below is a list of very simple things that you can do to get back to simple living or start it if you’ve never lived simply.

January: No eating out the rest of the month.

February: Get a minimum of 7-8 hours of sleep (whatever time you sleep, depending on your work schedule)

March: Get outdoors and walk (the weather will probably be getting warmer) or work out to a DVD in your living room if it’s too cold, but get some of that natural Vitamin D (sunlight).

April: No added sugar. Read labels, eat more fruit if you are craving sweets.

May: Prepare your own meals using lots of fresh veggies, good protein, fewer carbs (rice, potatoes, pasta).

June: Eat out only once every other week (that’s only twice a month).

July-Dec: Repeat months above.

I hope you try these. As elementary as they sound, just try them and drop me a comment below and let me know how you feel after a month, then 2 months, and so forth. I guarantee you will see big improvements in your health if you make these small changes every month. Plus if you don’t eat out in January guess what?  You will have more money and feel better!  Because anything called fast food can NOT be good for you.   Best of all anything you do for 21 days straight becomes a habit so why not try it!
