Start Thinking Green With This Smoothie For Beginners

Do you have trouble getting your daily fruits and veggies?? You are not alone. Most people are just really busy and eat on the go. Eating on the go usually means something quick, not very nutritious or sometimes just a quick snack. Others are busy and haven’t really figured out a way to get their daily requirement of fruits and veggies. Nutrition, health, and beauty go hand in hand. Eating more healthier helps your body recoup from daily stress and improves the texture and natural glow of your skin.

Green smoothies are a great way to get your fruit and veggies in daily especially when you are short on time and on the go.

They are easy to prepare and store and could be made to fit your specific tastes.  Since Green Smoothies are blended (not juiced) fruit and veggies, and a few other ingredients, you do need to prep ahead of time to ensure you have what you need to make a tasty drink.  Main ingredients would include a liquid (water is fine), leafy greens, fruit and if desired a superfood seed like chia or flax.  For beginners, use spinach as your green leafy veggie. The texture is more smooth and the taste is mild. Pick a couple fruits and add ice and blend. A high powered blender will blend it smoother but other blenders will blend it pretty well too.  Here is a simple recipe for beginners that can be tweaked to fit your tastes.

Start Thinking Green With This Smoothie For BeginnersIn your blender add:

8-10 oz of  water

2 big handfuls of spinach

1 apple (cored)

½ banana

5 strawberries


Blend well. You can also add fresh ginger or celery for a little kick or Chia/Flaxseed for additional health benefits.

And Tada! Your smoothie is done. It can be consumed immediately or stored in the refrigerator for the day ahead. Simple as that and you are 1 step closer to a healthier you!!
